HotaruCon will be from Friday 4th November to Sunday 6th November 2022 at the Jurys Inn Hotel in Milton Keynes. We'll be occupying the entire first floor event space so we'll be hard to miss.
The Committee are the central team responsible for organising HotaruCon, like you they're convention attendees, anime fans, cosplayers, dealers etc and you can find them at Operations (Ops) or around the convention over the weekend. In the run up to the convention, all the Committee are available in the Convention Discord.
Of course. Attendees regularly turn up before the first day of a convention to get the most out of the weekend.
To attend HotaruCon you'll need to register here but no, you don't have to be a guest of the hotel to attend. We do strongly encourage you to stay on site, nothing beats the convenience of being able to simply take the lift to the con.
Neither HotaruCon nor the Jurys Inn have designated off-road parking but there is inexpensive parking available across the road from the hotel controlled via the RingGo app which is easy to set up and extend.
Whilst we encourage you to remain regularly hydrated and carry a capped water bottle with you please do not eat or drink externally procured foods within the Jurys Inn hotel communal areas or HotaruCon's event spaces.
There is a bar on the first floor serving a range of drinks as well as the hotel restaurant, Costa coffee shop and vending machines downstairs.
Due to the nature of the event and the venue, you must be 18+ by the start date of the Con.
Being accompanied by an 18+ person is not sufficient; each registered attendee must be 18+.
