The Firefly Lounge applications are CLOSED
All new for HotaruCon 2, we thought we'd spice up Saturday night and preempt the parties with something a little different.
For the audience this is your opportunity to get cosy by the stage with a drink and some snacks while we shut the doors, dim the lights and offer you some entertainment.
For prospective performers, this a non-competitive, cosplay-optional opportunity to break out your moves. Whether that's a cheeky burlesque number or some slight-of-hand, a poetry reading or comedic bit. The aim is to entertain.
You don’t have to be in cosplay to participate and can be in groups up to 6. Whether your thing is singing, dancing, shadow puppetry or aerial gymnastics, we’ll do our best to accommodate.
The stage is 6m x 3m and accessed by a 4ft wide ramp that supports light weight vehicles. If you anticipate needing any help getting your act or yourself to the stage, let us know in the extra requirements section.
The Firefly Lounge takes part after the Masquerade at 8pm, all entrants will need to assemble in the Firefly Green Room at
7:30pm. The green room will remain open before, and during the show with chairs, water and places to store your bags while you're doing your thing. You'll need to attend the
Masquerade and Talent show briefing Saturday morning so we can check you
in
(you don't have to be in your show outfit though), take you through the
set up, and tech check
and make sure we have your details right. If you need to make any
last-minute
changes, this is your time to let us know! If you can't make the briefing because you're running a panel, or for any other reason, just let us know asap and we'll work something out.
You can enter both the Cosplay Masquerade and the Firefly Lounge if you wish.
We'll be taking any specific backing music needs via email, just let us know a little bit about what you'll be submitting in the Song Request field.
