Cosplay Chess applications have ended for HotaruCon 3
Cosplay Chess is a scripted game of chess played between two characters, using other cosplayers as the Chess pieces!
Cosplayers take to a life size chess board as a substitute for pieces until only one team is victorious, often with some interesting outcomes...
Battles between pieces may be comedic, dramatic or just plain silly.
You can cosplay from any genre and source material (so long as it conforms to our Cosplay and Weapons Guidelines) and can participate as a solo piece, a pair or even small groups (space and time allowing).
If you want to get involved but live performance isn't your thing, you can still be a piece on the board to help your team to victory and helpers are always welcome and encouraged to make sure the set up and the game runs smoothly.
It's a super fun time, both to participate and to watch (crowd participation is encouraged) and we're really excited to bring you this event at HotaruCon. Cosplay Chess is being organised by Tabby (Thesparkofrevolution) and Mariam (Ceresel) who are also available in our discord server on the dedicated chess channel if you have any other questions not covered in our FAQ.
You must be a registered ticket holder of HotaruCon in order to participate in chess, so if you haven't already make sure to register.
